Half Life

I'm so tired, yet I'm not working! I've set myself the task of "Blogging" today, and the days almost over! It's not because Im half asleep or anything to do with the Game of the same name that I've titled this "Half Life", It was a concern to a short, yet repeated news bulletin while in a background showing of the Presidential Election, but the news story had been running for a few weeks, the USA/Nato and Russian missiles being deployed on each side of the Polish/Russian boarder, it reminded me of the previous near disastrous consequences of times like the Cuban Missile Crises when John F Kennedy was President in Oct.1962, it scared most people at that time, me included, I remember, I was 18 years old, and thinking that there was no future and I wouldn't want to bring children into this broken world like it is (was then), we had seen what these weapons could do when the USA released bombs on Japans cities of Hiroshima (many civilians killed) and Nagasaki, the most populated with Christian Japanese (killing 150,000) in Aug.1945, at that time I was just 1 year old.
After WW2 (World War 2) the USA's "Manhattan Project" at Los Alamos, that produced the worlds first Atomic Bomb was run down after completion and testing and the many recruited "Scientist Allies" from various European countries, included; Britain, France, Germany, others from Canada and USA "patriots" went on further to expand the "trade" around the world, USSR(Union of Soviet Russia), Britain, France, USA, Germany, Israel, India, China, Pakistan, North Korea, and others have started projects, (including places on the South American Continent and some also have closed down or in "Limbo") including; South Africa, North Korea, Iran, some others are seeking assistance, main players include France and Russia and to a lesser degree Israel and Germany, some only supplying "Heavy Water" to process.
The USA, New York, 3 Mile Island incident (Mar.1979) and the (USSR) Ukraine, Chernobyl Incident (Apr.1986), both had "Meltdown" in their Nuclear Reactors, Chernobyl causing radiation "fall-out" locally making Chernobyl a "Ghost-Town", the winds then took the radio-active "dust-clouds" all around the Northern Hemisphere and here in Britain in areas such as Wales, the grass feeding animals ie sheep and such were made restrictive to sell for butchering by order of the Goverment for some years. Plutonium is a radio-active metal element with an Atomic number 94, a man-made element, it in its natural form, as in some Pichblende ores, once a main source of Uranium and Radium, contains only 1 part per trillion natural Plutonium, this element is greatly upgraded, so from Pu-233 (with a 20.minute 1/2 LIFE) going on to make "Fusion-Grade" Plutonium as Pu-239 calculated to be: 24,100 years 1/2 LIFE, so what are we doing for future generations? There are uses that have been put to good use, like X-Ray Machines & others that "Zap" Cancer Cells, but even these are now being over-taken by new "Nano" technology and although expensive are by far more efficient by targeting only the cancer cells by Ultrasound (HIFU) machines, and MRI scan (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) for display of inner body parts.
So there is some light on the horizon after all, thank God it's the Sun, another day, what a wonderful blessing.
