Life's Dreams #1.

I guess we all have "Dreams" and "Ambitions" when we set out on our life's journey, often there are influences that change our direction along the way, rarely do we achieve our original aims, also we have "Sleep-Dreams" that may be a reaction to the day or weeks observations or our involvements that may have been playing on the mind, and there is another type of dream that we awake from, it's the "Repeater-Dream" that you take notice of, it can be scary such as in a "Nightmare" and it can boggle the mind, being a driving force, to figure out the "Whys" and "Whats", as some people take it to be a "Sign" that sometimes we try to interpret or ask someone known, a friend, a confidant, who will try to help.
Many times I have awoke with a dream to scribble it down while I can still remember it!
In these dreams I get a "Picture", they say a picture paints a thousand words and so it may be difficult to describe fully, so I hope to do a short version of just two of my "repeater-dreams", then go back to "dreams/ambitions" from my point of view (What a Man Wants)

(to be continued)

Life's "Cliche's" at a Speed Date meeting. #1.

Hi my name is Alan, but you can call me Al.
Hello Al, my name is Maureen, you can call me More.
Well, tell me more, More, I'm all ears.
I can tell you a story or two,
but, Al, getting down to brass tacks, are you up for grabs?
More, I've been single for some months now, and believe it or not, what you see is what you get!
Al, I wasn't born yesterday, you must have some skeletons in your cupboard?
Alright More, I'll tell you no lie, for crying out loud, I was dating, but it's all over now! She was leading me up the garden path, it all boils down to her, she always wanted to party and could drink like a fish and thats the beginning and end of it!
I suppose it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all!
So, More, let's get down to the nitty-gritty, what is it that you like to do in your free time?
Ah, well, I love shopping, cooking, holidays in the sun and chatting, so I'd be tickled pink if I could find a man who ticks all the right boxes Al.
OK More, what are these boxes you need for me to come up smelling of roses?
Well Al, you come over as down to earth, rather than your head in the clouds so that's one box ticked, but I need some questions answered, can you dance or do you have two left feet? Do you treat your women like a lady or is it all's fair in love and war? Are you penny wise and pound foolish and does money burn a hole in your pocket or do you give a little, take a little? Do you think beauty is only skin deep or beauty is in the eye of the beholder? If you disagree, do you see red, dig your heels in, bite the bullet or agree to disagree?
Hey Maureen, they'll be calling time-up soon, it seems to me, that you must have been here before, to have so many things to be right before you date someone!?
Your right Al, I've been there, done that, got the tee shirt, it's just that if you had asked me what I do for a living, you'd know I run this place, and I can tell you a fool and his money are soon parted, I'm a widow, been married three times round the block, the first one must have fallen out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, but he had millions, and with a face only a mother could love, the second had the looks, but lied his way through life, I wouldn't go through all that again, not for all the tea in China, the third one had a heart of gold, but gambled everything away, unlucky at cards, lucky in love. In every life a little rain must fall, so now I live in an apartment in Mayfair, look, let's go for a coffee, how about next week, here's my number Al, sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees, so give me a call, and we'll talk again, you know what, there's always someone out there who would love to be with you, it's written in stone!
O.K, Thanks, so maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Well, I can't tell you what pleasure a it's been, until next week then, I'm free next Saturday... God Bless!
Yes, that'll be the day, never a dull moment, bye now Angel.

DIS is the Life

Over the years I've attempted to update "The Family" tree, checking through the Ancestry family line.
Besides my own 3 grown- up children (Lorraine, Amanda & Terence), I have (at least) 3 sisters (Carole, Angela & Sheree) and 4 brothers (Colin, Nigel, Malcolm & Leroy).
My brother Colin is at this time updating his own family line, we are both fathers, grand-fathers and great-grand-fathers!
But the Ancestry software doesn't cope too well when a family history gets to be as complex as ours is!
It's not (so much) that we are a dys(*DIS)-functional family unit, but more like, DIS-enfranchised (by our correct surnames), DIS-jointed & DIS-inherited (by having different fathers, some out of wedlock), DIS-figured (by age, incident & accident) DIS-informed (by parents & the elder generation), so will I DIS-guise being a little DIS-gruntled, do I DIS-honor my mother & father, do I DIS-miss my "part" brothers & sisters and are we DIS-illusioned by LIFE, no, not an iota.
Although, had we been conceived as it is, in this present world of liberation and abortion, I doubt if my family tree would exist!
From time to time there are a few poor (in morality) decisions by Government that seem to me, to be a kind of DIS-order, but our God, who knew us before we were born, can make the bad things good again, He is the Father of the Fatherless & we are in His Hands, so DIS is the life, and if you read this you can thank God for His many Blessings.
* ("DIS" at dysfunctional is a (cheat) word-play spelling!)
